Sturtevant, Wisconsin -- A training national skydiver died after falling into a pond in Racine County, a sheriff official said.
A 36-year-old Tennessee skydive near Sturtevant landed hard in the water next to his Midwest skydiving center, officials said Sunday.
The sheriff's office said the man was unconscious when another skydiver pulled him out of the pond. Representatives and members of the Grove-Yorkville Fire & Rescue Union attempted life-saving measures, but the man never regained consciousness. Sources said the man is a pro training for the National Parachute Association's national competition, which begins Sept. 3 at the skydiving center.
