Denver – A brand new restaurant has opened at Denver International Airport (DIA).
Mercantile Dining & Provision celebrated the opening of its newest Denver location in the heart of Concourse A at DIA.
James Beard Award-winning chef Alex Seidel helped create a new cafe and takeout marketplace.
The new restaurant is his 4,500 square meters and has an open kitchen. From the 15-seat counter, you can see the chefs carefully preparing each dish. Mercantile's Grab-and-Go offers homemade croissants and bread fresh out of the oven every hour.
This is his second location for Mercantile His Dining & Provisions, the first being on his 17th Street and Wincoop in downtown Denver.
"It's very similar to the Union Station location," Seidel said. "We offer people a variety of ways to eat fast or eat slow, with the same culinary abilities that have become known as the downtown Denver destination. I really hope they improve the food selection at the airport. We put a lot of time into designing it to make it feel different. This really looks and feels like being downtown. ”
Mercantile is open daily from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“We are excited to welcome our award-winning local chefs and restaurants to the airport to share a taste of Denver with passengers around the world,” said Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. We support local businesses while creating employment opportunities for about 90 people in our community. This is a real win-win for passengers and the local economy. ”
DIA CEO Phil Washington said: “We are grateful for our partnership with Mercantile, Taste on the Fly and IRG, which will provide [DIA] passengers with new fine dining options.”
