The island's only luxury hotel, Mantis St. Helena, is set to reopen on his October 15th. This property closed in 2020 due to international travel restrictions. Housed in former East India Company barracks built in 1774, Mantis St. Helena is located in the island's capital, Jamestown. It offers 24-hour concierge service and has 30 rooms, 8 of which are located in the restored wing of the building and the remaining 22 are located in the newly built wing.
After the Covid pandemic disrupted service from Johannesburg to Jamestown for about two years, Airlink resumed flights in March with his two-week flight to St. Helena. With the island and hotels reopening, the airline is preparing to increase the frequency of flights from Johannesburg to the island to weekly flights from 15 October.
Mantis Collection CEO Paul Gardiner said: This is really a to-do list destination. St. Helena may be a small island, but its dynamic natural wonders, centuries-old military fortifications and historic buildings make it the perfect place for active exploration. We are delighted to reopen our hotel and look forward to welcoming you back in the coming months. ”
